• Responsible for the collection of highly complex and difficult accounts
• Provide specialized collection work by gathering detailed financial information and negotiating resolutions
• Assist team members with challenging accounts using technical knowledge and industry guidelines
• Prepare weekly and monthly updates and status reports on outstanding delinquencies
• Offer financial counseling to discuss and resolve debt situations within established limits

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Typically requires 4-7 years of high-volume commercial collections experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and active listening skills
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures, collections techniques, and accounts receivable
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex documents to make informed decisions

• Some college education preferred
• Experience with mainframe systems like Oracle or related operating systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment
• Knowledge of state and federal Fair Debt Collections Laws and bankruptcy procedures
