Senior Project Controls Specialist; Remote

Overview

CDM Smith is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support construction projects across various locations in the U.S.! This role offers the chance to contribute to impactful infrastructure initiatives while working with a dynamic and collaborative team.

• Develop moderately to highly complex schedule and cost baselines, collect and analyze monthly schedule and cost data, identify variances, and assist in root cause analysis.
• Ensure risk reserves are accurately maintained, integrate financial forecasts, and communicate information through standardized reports to stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of financial controls, procedures, systems, and forecasting techniques.
• Manage portfolios and projects on an international scale, develop project planning considerations, and maintain integrated critical path schedules.
• Generate and analyze earned value reports, perform portfolio analysis, and prepare client and internal status reports.
• Use appropriate document management protocols to manage the storage and retrieval of project documentation.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentor more junior staff.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of related experience; additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a college degree.
• Experience managing construction projects and extensive Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 for developing and managing complex project schedules.
• Strong project management methodology knowledge, financial controls, and ability to interpret contract documents.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to work in fast‑paced environments.
