Junior Fraud Investigator (Evenings)

Shakepay has an amazing community of over 1,000,000 customers who trust us with their financial security. We take that trust seriously with a dedicated fraud team committed to detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, scams, and malicious activities on our platform.

As a Junior Fraud Investigator, you will support fraud investigations from both a customer-facing and operational perspective. Your responsibilities include reviewing fraud alerts, gathering evidence, and documenting case decisions while learning Shakepay’s fraud frameworks and tools.

You will collaborate with Customer Support and KYC teams to resolve fraud-related tickets, escalate risks, and support customers impacted by scams. You’re developing investigative instincts, communicating clearly, and making timely decisions. You’re eager to grow in the financial crime space and help improve fraud processes at Shakepay.

Hours: 1:30-9:30 p.m. ET, Wednesday - Sunday

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Investigations
    • Assist in collecting evidence, documentation, and information to support fraud cases.
    • Document and preserve case decisions based on fraud risk, supported by facts and evidence.
    • Investigate cases from various fraud queues with supervision.
    • Use internal systems and fraud tools to make accurate decisions.
    • Support ad-hoc fraud projects under supervision.
  • Customer Care
    • Handle fraud and scam-related tickets from initial contact to resolution with empathy and professionalism.
    • Improve support processes and communication for scam victims and internal investigations.
    • Respond proactively to customer requests related to fraud.

    Must haves:

    • Basic understanding of digital currencies.
    • 1+ years of experience in fraud investigation or related field.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with fraud-related systems and tools or in financial crime investigations.
    • Ability to multi-task, reliability, collaboration, and timely decision-making skills.

    Nice to Have

    • Bilingual in English and French.
