Agropur is looking for a Project Control Officer to join its team in St‑Hubert.

As a Project Control Officer, you will play a strategic role within the investment portfolio by ensuring strong financial governance and clear visibility into project performance. You will act as a trusted partner to the engineering and finance teams, monitoring budgets, analyzing variances, and contributing to value creation across all CAPEX initiatives. Thanks to your analytical expertise and ability to structure processes, you will actively participate in building and improving project control practices in a growing environment.

  • Salary scale 005: $82,600 to $103,200 (Base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and skills related to the position.)

What this role involves:
  • Ensuring compliance with VRO governance frameworks and stage‑gate validation processes.

  • Ensuring consistent application of project management standards across the portfolio.

  • Supporting the management of risks, issues, and dependencies, including escalation mechanisms.

  • Overseeing financial tracking: cost baselines, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.

  • Monitoring commitments, expenditures, and changes to ensure real‑time financial visibility.

  • Validating invoices and change orders according to contracts and project progress.

  • Collaborating with Finance and Resource Management to align budgets, capacity, and priorities.

  • Contributing to CAPEX reporting and tracking KPIs, benefits, and milestones.

  • Maintaining dashboards and reporting tools for senior management.

  • Analyzing trends to identify systemic risks and opportunities for improvement.

  • Acting as a strategic liaison between projects, business units, and stakeholders.

  • Facilitating steering committees, portfolio reviews, and governance forums.

  • Supporting change management and communications related to portfolio initiatives.

  • Contributing to the evolution of VRO methodologies, tools, and models.

  • Providing coaching and advice to project managers on governance and value realization.

  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize portfolio delivery.

  • Understanding and rigorously applying good manufacturing practices.

  • Stopping any unsafe act observed and following plant safety rules and procedures.

  • Immediately correcting or reporting any safety hazard.

  • Actively supporting health and safety policies and programs.

What you need to join our team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field;

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project governance (controls and cost management), portfolio management, or PMO roles;

  • Experience in a strategic corporate PMO (asset);

  • Bilingualism (English/French) (asset);

  • PMP, PgMP, or Portfolio Management certification (asset); CLTD/CITT certifications (asset);

  • Strong understanding of earned value management, project control systems, strategic planning, and enterprise‑level project governance;

  • Proficiency with portfolio management tools (e.g., Power BI, Smartsheet, MS Project, Clarity, or equivalent);

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
