West Corp Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our internal finance and payroll operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing, client invoicing, expense management, and financial reporting across our growing business. Working closely with the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, work-from-home environment and bring strong organization, discretion, and accountability to day-to-day financial administration.
Location: Work-from-home (must be based in the Comox Valley, BC area for occasional in-person meetings)
Type: Full-time, permanent
Start: As soon as possible
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
Wage: $26.00 per hour, increasing to $28.00 after 3 months
Key Responsibilities- Process timesheets and support payroll administration (overtime/expenses, pay stubs, payroll summaries, year-end support such as T4s)
- Prepare and issue client invoices and support regular billing cycles in Quick Books
- Review and process expense submissions and reimbursements
- Support Accounts Payable administration (invoice review and tracking)
- Maintain finance trackers, spreadsheets, and templates to support accurate processing and reporting
- Prepare financial reports/summaries for client projects and internal review
- Monitor basic contract/billing controls (e.g., PO limits/terms) to support compliance
- Manage WCB administration and clearance tracking across provinces
- Provide onboarding support related to time/expense submissions and respond to related questions
- Maintain confidentiality and follow company policies/procedures; perform other related duties as assigned
- Post-secondary education in accounting/finance or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in a finance, payroll, or accounting support role
- Strong working knowledge of Quick Books Desktop and Excel
- Understanding of Canadian payroll fundamentals and provincial labour standards
- Experience with invoicing, expenses, basic AP processes, and supporting WCB administration across multiple provinces
- High attention to detail with strong organization and ability to manage deadlines
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, work-from-home environment
- Clear, professional communication skills and comfort working with confidential information
