Salary: £53,500 to £60,000 plus:

AboutThe Role
In this role, you’ll play a central role in shaping and delivering our regional capital investment plans. Working across a dedicated investment team for the East region of the UK, you’ll ensure projects are initiated, sponsored through delivery, and successfully closed – all aligned to business strategy, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities. You’ll also lead the development of our medium‑term investment plans, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure investment decisions are data‑driven, efficient, and deliver maximum value.
What you’ll be doing- Developing and optimising the medium‑term (RIIO‑3) investment plan for your regional investment theme
- Sponsoring projects through the full investment lifecycle: initiation, scoping, development, execution and close‑out
- Managing changes within the investment plan to mitigate risk and maintain delivery against business and regulatory objectives
- Resolving complex investment plan conflicts using a data‑led approach and close stakeholder collaboration
- Working closely with finance, central investment teams and major programmes to ensure alignment of investment decisions
- Monitoring performance, risks and opportunities across your investment theme and presenting updates to senior stakeholders
- Providing regulatory reporting on delivery performance and forward‑looking forecasts
- Ensuring consistent application of central portfolio investment processes to maintain a single, aligned portfolio view
You’ll bring strong analytical capability, stakeholder confidence and the ability to translate complex investment data into clear, strategic decisions. You’ll be proactive, collaborative and comfortable challenging assumptions to ensure projects and plans deliver the right outcomes. Essential- Expertise in investment portfolio planning and optimisation
- Degree (or equivalent) in a numerical discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Strong numerical capability and a demonstrable data‑led approach to problem‑solving
- Experience in financial analysis, reporting and risk management
- Experience in data management and advanced data analysis
- Strong communication skills with experience managing internal stakeholders
- Experience in project management
- Full UK car driving licence
- Experience with asset investment optimisation tools such as Copperleaf
- Understanding of gas transmission assets or similar network infrastructure
- Experience working with utility network price controls (e.g., RIIO)
