Reporting into the Director of Finance Operations, you will sit within the Finance leadership team and take ownership of the end-to-end transactional finance function. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of high‑volume financial processes that underpin the organisation’s financial stability and long‑term performance.
You will play a key role in improving governance, enhancing service delivery, and partnering closely with Finance and IT stakeholders to modernise systems, processes, and ways of working.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, develop, and motivate transactional finance teams across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Own and optimise end‑to‑end transactional finance processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls.
- Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and control.
- Strengthen governance frameworks and ensure full compliance with regulatory, audit, and internal control requirements.
- Act as a senior point of contact for internal and external audits relating to transactional finance.
- Partner with Finance and IT teams to streamline workflows, integrate systems, and improve data quality.
- Monitor performance against KPIs and service‑level standards, providing clear reporting and insight to senior leaders.
- Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to deadlines.
- Significant experience leading transactional finance operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury.
- Proven track record of delivering process improvement and automation initiatives within a finance operations environment.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance, and audit requirements.
- Demonstrable leadership and people management experience, with the ability to build and develop high‑performing teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to operate effectively across Finance and IT.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability.
- A professional finance qualification (e.g. ACCA, AAT) is desirable but not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance operations leader to play a critical role in strengthening financial foundations, improving efficiency and control, and shaping the future of transactional finance within a large, complex organisation.
