Offering a comprehensive range of retail and corporate financial services/products, this thriving business boasts over 10 million active customers in more than 700 business locations. Due to business requirements, we are now looking to acquire the services of an experienced Business Manager.

Please note that this is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

In this role, you will support the Risk Management team to plan ahead and deliver the business strategy in line with the bank’s long‑term goals. You’ll also oversee and implement bank‑wide and business activities, engagement agendas and executive reporting.

This role provides high‑level technical, analytical and operational support to the Chief Risk Officer in delivering the bank’s risk strategy, regulatory obligations and transformation agenda. The Business Manager acts as a trusted advisor to the CRO, ensuring the smooth running of the Risk function, driving cross‑functional initiatives and enabling the CRO to focus on strategic priorities. The role also supports the wider Risk Management team on operational, governance and project‑based activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collate, analyse and synthesise risk, regulatory and business information for the CRO, drawing on internal and external sources.
  • Prepare high‑quality reports, Board/Committee papers and presentations for the CRO, Executive Committee and Board Risk Committee.
  • Support the CRO in developing and tracking delivery of the bank’s risk strategy, risk appetite and transformation initiatives.
  • Conduct research and horizon scanning on emerging risks (e.g., cyber, ESG, geopolitical, regulatory) to inform the CRO decision‑making.
  • Draft operational and technical documentation, including risk policies, frameworks and regulatory submissions.
  • Prepare and review Management Information (MI), dashboards and analytics to support risk oversight and decision‑making.
Key Skills/Experience
  • Experience in financial services or banking is essential.
  • Previous experience in any of the risk management disciplines (credit, market, liquidity and operational risk).
  • Experience working with auditors or Board Committees is an advantage.
  • Track record of supporting process improvements and delivering operational excellence.
  • Experience supporting C‑suite executives, ideally in a risk, compliance or governance environment.
  • Strong analytical, research and data presentation skills; able to distil complex information for senior audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including Board‑level report writing.
  • Postgraduate degree (e.g., MBA, MSc in Risk/Finance) or professional risk qualification (e.g., FRM, PRM, IRM) is an advantage.
