Overview
Senior Financial Accountant. Job . Pay Rate: £640 per day PAYE. Hours per week:
Monday – Friday, normal working hours. This opening assignment is for 1 month. Remote working. Flexible working for 4 weeks. Role can be worked full time, or 1 day per week.

We are seeking a qualified, analytical Senior Financial Accountant with expertise in the legal sector and complex financial structures. This role will focus on understanding how law firms and banks manage client money. You will provide expert insight, support evidence-based policy development, and engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse how law firms hold, manage, and account for client money, including pooled and designated accounts.
- Identify gaps in existing evidence and recommend additional data to improve understanding of law firm financial behaviour.
- Support assessment of sector-wide risks, incentives, and areas of concern. Contribute to stakeholder engagement strategies, explaining financial impacts clearly.
- Review and interpret complex accounting and banking arrangements, including layered and cross-border structures.
- Assess how financial structures affect interest generation, allocation, and regulatory exposure.
- Translate complex financial and data concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Legal Sector Banking Experience
:
Knowledge of legal sector banking and law firm client money management (pooled and individual accounts).
- Policy & Market Insight
:
Ability to anticipate regulatory or policy change responses. Experience advising on behavioural and market impacts in regulated or professional services environments.
- Complex Financial Structures
:
Proven experience analysing complex accounting structures in law firms or similar professional services organisations. Understanding of multi-entity and international financial arrangements and their implications for interest allocation and regulatory compliance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly understand complex policy areas. Confidence working with financial and operational datasets.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Strong internal stakeholder engagement skills. Solid understanding of financial and data terminology.
