About the businessOur client is a large, international group operating across multiple services globally. The organisation is growing and evolving, with finance playing a key role in supporting change, consistency and best practice across the group.
About the teamEach business within the group has its own local finance team, while Group Finance provides oversight, expertise and support across all entities. The function acts as a centre of excellence, covering group accounting & control, FP&A, treasury, tax and internal controls. The team has grown significantly in recent years — and there’s more to come.
The roleThis is a newly created position within Group Finance, reporting to the Group Accounting Manager. You’ll sit within a shared services environment supporting UK-based businesses, with exposure to group-level reporting and projects.
It’s a broad, varied role that will give you strong foundations in financial accounting, controls and month-end — ideal if you’re looking to develop your technical skills and progress within a group environment.
What you’ll be doingYou’ll be involved in a wide range of accounting and control activities, including:
- End-to-end accounting for allocated entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with group policies
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing accruals and prepayments, including journals and supporting schedules
- Preparing and processing cost recharges (IT, payroll, shared services, etc.)
- Supporting month-end close and maintaining the general ledger
- Preparing P&L and balance sheet analysis and monthly reporting packs
- Assisting with lease accounting and fixed asset accounting (capitalisation, disposals, depreciation and analysis)
- Supporting internal control and compliance activities, including documentation and testing
- Getting involved in finance transformation initiatives, including process improvement, automation and systems optimisation
- Supporting ad-hoc projects across Group Finance

:
- Part-qualified or studying towards ACCA or CIMA
- Strong attention to detail with a critical, analytical mindset
- Comfortable managing a varied workload and meeting deadlines
- Curious about improving processes and how technology can make finance better
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups essential)
- A confident communicator, able to work with colleagues across different teams and levels
