Financial Counselor; Remote

• Rate: USD 59-111/hour

We are seeking a dedicated Credit Counselor to support individuals in achieving financial stability through expert guidance and personalized debt management strategies. In this fully remote role, you will assess clients’ financial situations, develop structured repayment plans, and provide clear, compassionate counseling to help clients regain control of their financial well-being.

• Assess clients’ financial situations by reviewing income, assets, debts, expenses, and credit reports
• Calculate available monthly income to determine repayment capacity and recommend appropriate solutions
• Develop customized debt management plans, structured budgets, and long-term financial strategies
• Explain debt management program terms, creditor policies, and potential financial outcomes clearly and accurately
• Prioritize repayment strategies to reduce risks such as bankruptcy, foreclosure, or excessive interest accumulation
• Maintain detailed, confidential records of client interactions and financial plans
• Communicate with creditors to negotiate repayment terms when appropriate
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and consumer protection standards

• Proven experience in financial counseling, debt management, or a related financial services field
• Strong ability to analyze financial statements and credit reports
• Expertise in budget development and repayment strategy planning
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong negotiation skills and professional judgment
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Empathetic approach with a commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

• Certification in credit counseling, financial planning, or related discipline
• Experience supporting diverse clients with complex financial challenges
• Familiarity with financial compliance standards and consumer protection regulations
