The Opportunity:
We are working with an entrepreneurial CEO leading an investment holding company. The team is looking to add a Vice President of Finance & Operations serving as the right-hand person to the CEO. This role spans a diversity of functions including strategic finance, operational oversight, and business development. You'll work directly with the CEO across the entire portfolio, gaining experience in multiple industries while building the financial and operational infrastructure to support continued growth. This role represents a clear pathway to a CFO position for the right individual.

- Strategic Finance & Analysis:
Build financial models and analysis across multiple business entities; support capital raising initiatives and investment decisions; prepare investment memorandums and presentations for portfolio company fundraising and new investment opportunities - Portfolio Management & Operations:
Monitor and report on portfolio company performance; drive strategic planning and identify opportunities for value creation with management teams; implement operational improvements and technology solutions across portfolio companies - Leadership & Development:
Build finance and operations functions as the organization scales; work closely with banking partners, lenders, and external advisors including legal, tax, and audit professionals; represent the company in external meetings and transactions

- Implement AI-powered tools at a portfolio company
- Structure financing for a bitcoin mining operation
- Oversee the acquisition of heavy-lift cranes for oil & gas drilling operations

Requirements Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3+ years of investment banking or private equity experience
- Experience with client-facing responsibilities and sell-side transactions
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- Experience with Confidential Investment Memorandums (CIMs) strongly preferred
- Operational experience in business improvement or corporate development
- Sales or business development experience
- Exposure to energy sector or oil & gas service companies
- Experience with technology implementation or process improvement initiatives
- Exceptional adaptability and strong independent problem-solving abilities
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to "figure things out"
- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Competitive base salary of $200,000 CAD
