We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Business Partner to join our Finance Department here at NFU Mutual. You’ll contribute to the development of the long-term direction of NFUM through partnering, planning and influencing across our General Insurance business. Working closely with the senior management team the role will provide challenge, insight and analysis enabling informed decisions on sales, claims and profitability to help deliver with the Group’s long‑term strategic objectives.

In addition, you’ll be joining a business committed to development, coaching and mentorship to support you and your team’s development. You’ll partner, influence and challenge the business to ensure the financial implications of business decisions and change are fully considered and to contribute commercial insight and financial best practice to business performance management. The role will focus on our personal lines insurance, supporting the business to achieve its ambitions in a competitive and evolving market.

You’ll also build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of business stakeholders, including senior leaders, to understand business dynamics and ensure the effective delivery of objectives.

As part of the management team, you’ll identify, propose and facilitate the delivery of improvements to the partnering, planning and analysis proposition, leveraging emerging technology to enhance customer experience and develop excellence in Financial Planning & Analysis.

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial performance and delivering insights that shape strategic decision-making. Drawing on your financial planning and analysis experience, you will analyse and report on sales trends and claims cost development, using your commercial insight to challenge technical stakeholders around the business. Your understanding of the General Insurance market and industry trends in personal lines will be invaluable as you provide informed recommendations and challenge thinking.

You’ll have the capability to build, review, and adapt models that forecast key business metrics, including the company’s medium term plan. You will have strong collaboration skills, with the confidence to challenge subject matter experts on a variety of technical assumptions, such as claims or policy persistency. Your ability to translate complex data into actionable insights through data visualisation and storytelling will enable you to distil key messages for a senior audience.

You will also be able to think strategically, working with the business towards delivery of our 2035 strategy, and assessing how future initiatives will impact key metrics and future forecasts.

Your strong analytical skills, ability to challenge thinking, and problem‑solving mindset will allow you to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, ensuring your insights are clear, compelling, and actionable. By fostering collaboration and applying your expertise, you will play a vital role in shaping NFU Mutual’s financial strategy and performance.

In addition to technical expertise, you’ll be adept at driving process improvement and managing change effectively.

To join our team, you’ll also have;

• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong IT skills to include data manipulation skills, with particular reference to MS Office, Power BI and Workday Adaptive
