OverviewWe’re looking for a highly proactive, enthusiastic and driven Treasury Ops Lead to work within our Financial control team, helping us to build a world-class finance function. This role would be well suited to someone experienced in leading Treasury back office teams within a banking environment. You’ll help scale Monzo in a controlled way, optimise our financial control processes with the help of technology, and report to the overall squad lead of the Treasury Operations and Product Control teams.
You’llplay a key role by…
- Leading our Treasury Operations team on a daily basis.
- Working closely with Treasury Product Control and Treasury front office teams as we continue to maintain and build out our Treasury function.
- Establishing best practice processes and controls for Treasury operations, which are scalable in line with our growth plans.
- Developing new and maintaining existing internal controls that protect our financial data, enhance robustness of treasury settlement processes and support a clean balance sheet substantiation for Treasury accounts from a back office perspective.
- Working closely with 2
LoD and 3
LoD on enhancing and driving visible improvements within the internal control landscape. - Overseeing daily transaction processes for all Treasury products from a back office perspective, including new deal confirmations and settlements.
- Ensuring all Treasury transactions are validated and processed, including confirmations, payments, receipts, and foreign exchange deals.
- Overseeing the trade lifecycle management for all treasury transactions and following up with custodians and counter parties to ensure settlements complete as contractually agreed.
- Managing daily margin call confirmations and cash settlements across swaps, REPO and FX derivatives, as per agreements with counter parties.
- Maintaining and updating static data within the TMS accurately and efficiently.
- Generating regular and ad-hoc reports on cash forecasting positions, transaction volumes, and other relevant metrics, including bank reconciliations to key stakeholders.
- Supporting year-end processes by working with external auditors and the Financial Reporting squad.
- Reviewing new Treasury products, assessing and documenting the impact on back office settlement processes to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Preparing monthly management and ad-hoc reports with meaningful analysis of movements.
- Resolving inquiries and supporting the Finance team with forecasting, valuations, bank transfers and new system implementations.
- Working with engineers and data teams to automate production elements of the role, allowing focus on high-value activities.
- Learning SQL skills to run reports and propose solutions that make processes efficient and scalable.
- You have experience in leading treasury back office teams (preferably in a banking environment).
- You have a track record in motivating and developing people.
- You’re fascinated by the banking and regulatory landscape, with a good understanding of key internal financial controls.
- You’re a self-starter who can tackle what needs doing, whether it’s making a bank transfer or pulling together reports for investors.
- You’re able to translate complex information into simple language for diverse audiences.
- You’re interested in using data (SQL skills would be a bonus).
- You thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
