Payroll Assistant

Sharp Consultancy are working with a long-standing, Sheffield based business who are looking to recruit a Payroll Assistant on a full time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a supportive finance team within a stable and growing organisation. The role will suit someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and confident working to deadlines.

• End-to-end processing of payroll on a weekly and monthly basis
• Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and in line with current legislation
• Managing starters, leavers and changes to employee records
• Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP and pensions
• Handling payroll queries and providing a high level of service to employees
• Supporting with payroll reporting and reconciliations
• Working closely with HR and Finance to ensure data accuracy

• Have previous experience working in a payroll-focused role
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Be confident using payroll systems and Excel
• Have up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation
• Be a proactive team player with a professional and approachable manner

• Salary between £28,000 – £32,000 depending on experience
• Full time, permanent position
• Flexible working hours with the option for 1 day working from home after a successful probation period.

• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
