Accounting Process & AI Technology Expert - Remote US
Gartner is looking for an Analyst to provide research and advisory to global clients in the US, EMEA and beyond. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leveraging technology to transform financial reporting systems across record‑to‑report processes. They will possess deep knowledge of challenges faced by Controllers in transforming AP, AR and financial close processes, and a keen sense of the AI and automation challenges facing CFOs and Corporate Controllers.
Whatyou’ll do
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert transforming controllership processes, accounts payable, accounts receivable and the financial close processes. Guide clients in applying AI and automation techniques to drive processing efficiency and strategic outcomes for the office of the CFO.
- Work with a collaborative team of highly experienced analysts to build authoritative research and advice that addresses the priorities and challenges of senior finance leaders, helping clients understand the impact of AI and automation on the controllership function and selecting the best fit vendors.
- Deliver high‑quality advice through face‑to‑face and video‑based presentations and discussions with clients.
- Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues across accounting technologies and processes, as well as adjacent areas such as finance technology and transformation strategy.
- Obsessed with your area of expertise and known as the definitive expert in your market, vendors, trends, and process best practices.
- Adept at writing insightful and actionable content to business leaders that supports their strategic goals.
- Excellent collaborator who can quickly build rapport and gain client trust.
- Confident presenter with an executive presence (prior speaking engagements are a plus).
- Analytical thinker who processes information quickly and makes actionable recommendations.
- Willing to challenge conventional norms and views.
- 8+ years of experience leading accounting teams supporting record‑to‑report processes in large multinational organisations, with demonstrated experience transforming financial close/accounting processes.
- Strong knowledge with various accounting automation vendors, technologies and ERPs associated with financial accounting processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
- Ability to conduct occasional travel, regionally and globally.
