Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority for an experienced Senior Management Accountant on a temporary basis. This is a hybrid role, predominantly home-based with occasional on-site attendance for key meetings. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional who can provide high-quality financial support, drive robust budget management, and contribute to continuous improvement across a complex organisation.

• Financial Business Partnering - Provide proactive financial support to senior managers and budget holders, ensuring effective budget management and informed decision-making.
• Budget Monitoring & Reporting - Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, forecasting, year-end processes, and corporate financial reporting.
• Financial Governance & Controls - Promote strong financial management practices, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and maintain effective internal controls.
• Process Improvement & Corporate Support - Contribute to budget setting, statutory accounts preparation, financial modelling, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Qualified Accountant - CCAB qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience, with strong technical management accounting expertise.
• Public Sector / Complex Organisation Experience - Proven background in financial planning, budget monitoring, forecasting, and identifying efficiencies.
• Strong Analytical & Systems Skills - Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial modelling and interpreting complex financial data.
• Excellent Stakeholder Engagement - Confident communicator with experience supporting and challenging non-finance managers and delivering training where required.
