Job Purpose:

The Senior Finance Business Partner is a strategic advisor to the business, responsible for driving financial performance, influencing decision-making, and leading commercial insight across the European business (c. € 70m Turnover, € 15m contribution). This role acts as a trusted partner to senior leadership, providing robust financial analysis, challenging assumptions, and shaping strategic direction.

The position requires advanced financial expertise, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations. The role owns the financial performance agenda for Europe, ensuring the business delivers profitable and sustainable growth.

1. Financial Leadership & Strategic Analysis

• Own the European P&L performance, ensuring accuracy, insight, and financial rigour.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Deliver financial modelling to evaluate scenarios, risks, and opportunities.

2. Business Insight & Strategic Influence

• Partner with senior leaders to influence strategic decisions and business planning.
• Translate financial data into commercial insights that drive performance and profitability.
• Own the delivery of European financial insight packs and business cases.

3. Communication & Senior Stakeholder Engagement

• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Sales, Operations and HR.
• Confidently present financial insights to leadership teams and influence decision-making.
• Challenge and support stakeholders to drive accountability for business performance.

4. Advanced Analytical Thinking & Problem-Solving

• Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities using advanced analytical techniques.
• Leverage BI tools, financial models, and automation to enhance insight and efficiency.
• Solve complex financial and operational problems, recommending practical solutions.

5. Commercial & Strategic Awareness

• Function as a commercial partner, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and optimise costs.
• Evaluate investment cases, pricing decisions, and new business proposals.
• Provide insight on business unit performance, profitability, and return on investment (ROI).

• Professional qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA preferred.
• Typically 5+ years’ experience in finance, business partnering, FP&A, or commercial finance roles.
• Proven history of influencing senior stakeholders and driving financial outcomes.
• Advanced Excel and strong proficiency with BI/reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of financial management principles, commercial drivers, and strategic decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial information.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience working in multi-country or matrix organisations preferred.
