Finance Assistant
Location:
Bristol Harbour side
Hourly Pay Rate: £14.40
Contract Length:
Full-time, Fixed Term until June 2026 (35 hours per week, Monday-Friday)
Hybrid Working: 2-days per week in the office, 3-days working from home
About the Role:
This is a great opportunity to build and grow your finance career within one of the UK's largest and most reputable financial institutions.
As a Finance Assistant, you'll play a key part in delivering accurate, timely financial processes that support stakeholders across the Group. Working in our Accounting Operations team, you'll focus on a variety of reconciliation activities covering areas such as Cash Settlement, Intersystem and Control Accounts, and Payroll.
You'll carry out daily and month‑end reconciliations using both heritage systems and Oracle, investigate any anomalies, and post necessary adjustments. Month-end is a key time for us, and you'll help ensure our balance sheet reconciliations are completed to the highest standard. Outside of that cycle, you'll dive into investigative work, collaborating with colleagues across the business to resolve issues and keep our financial data accurate and reliable.

What You'll Bring:
We're looking for someone who has:
Experience working with reconciliations
Strong attention to detail
The ability to prioritise workloads effectively
A good working knowledge of Excel
Clear and confident communication skills, written and verbal
It would also be great (but not essential) if you have:
Experience with Oracle or similar financial systems
Previous work in a finance or accounting environment
Understanding of ledger processes
Strong analytical/problem‑solving skills
