** What you’ll be doing
*** Assisting with the monthly process to collate data from across the business into BT’s VAT Reporting Tool.
* Assisting with the preparation, consolidation and the timely filing of BT’s UK VAT return each quarter.
* Assisting with the VAT governance framework.
* Build relationships internally providing VAT advice, training and support as required to facilitate accurate tax coding of transactions and an accurate VAT return compliant with MTD requirements.
* Continuously improve VAT process and governance framework challenging the existing ways of doing things, utilising BT’s VAT
* Reporting Tool;
Robotic Process Automation, and introducing new technology.
* Assisting with VAT tax risks, including tax audits.##
** The skills you'll need
*** An interest in tax with a strong desire to develop a deep understanding of UK indirect tax.
* Ability to coordinate and prioritise complex and diverse issues.
* Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
* Possess a high level of attention to detail as well as excellent organisational, communication and time management skills with experience of meeting targets and deadlines.
* Tax or accounting education/experience is preferable but not essential.##
