Location: MontrealJob Description:The Senior Credit Analyst will be responsible for monitoring the credit quality of a diversified portfolio of corporate clients across investment-grade, high-yield, and sponsor-owned segments.This role involves credit analysis, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and close collaboration with coverage, product, and risk teams to support sound credit decision-making.Responsibilities:Monitor the credit quality of an assigned portfolio across a specific sector, including investment-grade, high-yield, and sponsor-owned clients.Perform periodic reviews of borrower financial statements, press releases, news articles, industry data, rating reports, and peer analysis.Prepare credit proposals for new client originations, underwritings, refinancings, amendments, and annual reviews.Coordinate the credit approval process with coverage, product, and risk teams to ensure timely transaction execution.Present higher-risk clients in formal monitoring forums including Quarterly Sector Reviews and Watch List meetings.Create and maintain client exposure reports and internal risk ratings using bank rating methodologies.Participate in client calls and bank meetings as part of due diligence activities.Maintain portfolio reporting including deal flow tracking, exposure monitoring, and management reports.Interact with internal and external auditors during loan examinations.Coordinate with other bank branches regarding group strategies and contributor information.Mentor junior analysts and actively support team collaboration and knowledge sharing.Requirement / Must Have:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.Minimum 4+ years of experience in Corporate Banking, preferably in corporate credit, or with Rating Agencies covering corporate clients.Strong knowledge of loan structures, credit agreements, terms, and projection modeling.Solid understanding of general banking products and banking practices.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight turnaround timelines.Strong verbal and written communication skills with professionalism when interacting with senior bankers.Self-starter with the ability to take initiative independently and within a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Should Have:Experience with M&A transactions and LBO financing.Competitive compensation package.Flexible benefits including family and spouse insurance programs.Defined contribution pension plan.Paid days for volunteering.Hybrid work model with up to 50% remote work and flexible working hours.Access to excellent training, professional development, and international career opportunities.
