Life Actuary

About the role

As a Life Actuary at NFU Mutual, you will play a key role in supporting the long‑term profitability and sustainability of our Financial Services division.

Your responsibilities include designing and validating actuarial models, analysing complex data, and translating your findings into clear, well‑reasoned recommendations for stakeholders across NFU Mutual. You will support decisions on new business and changes to existing life products, including pensions and investments, within the Commercial Actuarial Finance team. The role involves both business‑as‑usual activity and project‑based work.

Hybrid working – 2‑3 days per week from our Stratford‑upon‑Avon office with the remaining time working from home.

• Fully or nearly qualified actuary (FIA or FFA qualified or working towards qualification)
• Honours degree in a numerate discipline such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics
• In‑depth knowledge of actuarial modelling and the current regulatory framework within Financial Services (for Life products)
• Experience of interpreting complex analysis and explaining it clearly to non‑technical audiences
• Collaborative approach with the confidence to provide expert advice and challenge
