Pensions/Actuarial Analyst - Special Projects Team (Home Based)
We are looking for a Pensions/Actuarial Analyst to join the Special Projects team within the Consulting business of Capita Pensions Solutions.
The team provides excellence to clients in relation to varied pension projects both for ongoing pension schemes and those heading towards or in the process of buy in/out or wind up, mainly working on DB schemes but also on some DC schemes.
In this role you will enable clients to undertake transactions and derisking exercises by confirming the quality, consistency and reliability of pensions data and work on projects that include:
- Rectifying benefits where rules/legislation were not interpreted correctly
- Improving/correcting the automated retirement calculations for administration clients
- Undertaking pre-deal due diligence for bulk annuity providers
- Providing governance work for trustees including testing application of rules to benefits
- Working on a wide range of DB pensions projects for DB pensions clients and bulk annuity providers and may include any/all of the below plus other project types as they arise.
- Benefit correction/rectification exercises.
- Benefit creation exercises, such as contingent spouse pensions.
- Benefit calculation audits.
- Benefit calculation proforma for administration teams to use on smaller clients calculations testing (both doing calculations to test against automated results and using pensions knowledge to identify errors in/improve automated calculations).
- Drafting consulting reports on projects.
- Essential:
Experience in a DB pensions consulting/technical environment. - Practical, wide/deep knowledge of occupational DB pensions.
- Flexibility to work on different types of DB pensions projects.
- Ability to deliver to tight timescales.
- Clear communication with actuaries and non-actuaries.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Excel.
Desirable:
Making good progress with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries exams (if have an actuarial background - option to start if not already progressing, not compulsory).
