Overview

Role

Head of Prudential Risk – a senior finance role that leads the planning and production of key prudential deliverables, ensuring financial risk is managed within risk appetite across Monzo.

Responsibilities
  • Own the annual group ICAAP process, ensuring delivery on time and alignment with internal and external requirements.
  • Own the annual review of the recovery plan, ensuring it aligns with regulatory requirements and reflects the evolving group.
  • Implement the Group’s evolving resolution strategy, complying with RAF requirements including OCIR, VIR and COA.
  • Support capital planning activities, risk appetite setting and lead ALCO reporting and KRI maintenance for Financial Risk.
  • Understand future prudential regulatory change and work with relevant teams to assess and adapt.
  • Support the broader financial risk team with the delivery of wider objectives.
  • Lead a high‑performing team, support development needs and ensure clear roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Proven prudential regulatory experience at a bank, consultancy or regulatory body.
  • Relevant professional qualification.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to interpret them for Monzo.
  • Comfortability with financial projections and risk quantification analysis techniques.
  • Ability to coordinate, participate and lead projects to produce regulatory deliverables.
  • Interest in exploring regulatory regime areas not previously covered, especially for a new bank.
  • Experience building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively in a dynamic environment.
