Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will act as the key finance contact for operational managers, providing financial insight, commercial support and robust reporting to help drive performance and profitability.
This is a hands-on role combining management accounting, forecasting, business partnering and financial analysis within a fast-paced construction environment. Duties will include:
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts, flash reports and KPI reporting Monitor profitability, work in progress, cash flow and contract performance Partner with operational and commercial teams to support decision making Deliver budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling, including scenario analysis and 5-year planning Analyse income, expenditure and project performance, providing meaningful variance analysis and recommendations Support pricing, tenders and commercial quotations for new contracts Drive process and systems improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy Support year-end activities, audit requirements and financial controls Provide financial guidance and support to non-finance stakeholders across the business The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experiences:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or exceptional qualified by experience candidate Minimum 2 years' finance experience within the construction sector Strong understanding of work in progress, contract accounting and profitability analysis Experience producing management accounts, forecasts and commercial reporting Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines Strong Excel and finance systems skills with a continuous improvement mindset This is a key role supporting a growing group of commercial businesses with turnover exceeding £8m.
