Accounting Manager
Position Overview
Outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic, hard‑working and highly motivated individual to join our EMEA Managed Services delivery team. MRI is looking for a high‑performing individual to support across its property accounting outsourcing function within the commercial, residential & social housing space. The Property Accountant will be expected to visit client sites and could be responsible for leading across a breadth of clients within the different sectors.
You’ll be tasked with delivering and managing clients’ expectations & workloads, leveraging our global delivery teams for accounting support.
- Own the client engagement covering the end-to-end Service Charge activities from budgeting through to year end processes.
- Producing compliant accounts in line with lease terms and Technical Release 03/11.
- Working with the global delivery team to allocate tasks, review and deliver on client engagements.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to identify delivery efficiencies where applicable.
- Support other property accounting functions across AR, AP, GL etc.
- Act as a subject matter expert across complex queries e.g. VAT consideration with mixed use properties.
- Assist with best practices across onboarding portfolios from prior agents.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Assist leadership team with special projects, operating mechanisms, initiatives for the Managed Services organisation.
- Focus on building client relationships, visiting clients on site to work collaboratively and ensure a high‑quality service delivery to support with client satisfaction & retention.
- Comprehensive knowledge of property accounting functions.
- 3+ years of experience in Service Charge management across Commercial & Residential sectors.
- Must have worked on MRI solutions i.e. Horizon, QubePM or PMX.
- Must have a good understanding of RICS Service Charge guidelines.
- Must have previous experience in a client facing role.
- Ideally exposed to Service Charge within Social Housing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, peers, and management through written and/or verbal communication.
- Ideally working towards or have a professional qualification e.g. AAT / CIMA / ACCA / ACA.
