Team / Division OverviewThe Passive Portfolio Management Team at DWS manages X‑trackers across equity and fixed income ETFs and segregated mandates, covering a broad array of benchmark providers and ESG themes. The team has a global presence and works closely with trading desks and product development to deliver efficient, scalable platform solutions.
Role Details- Carry out daily management of index equity portfolios via portfolio construction and trade implementation.
- Support efficient management of client flows.
- Manage investment and risk exposures and determine optimal hedging strategies where applicable.
- Determine optimal portfolio strategy to minimize tracking error to index and ensure accurate execution across corporate actions and cash flows.
- Work on projects aimed at creating efficiency, scale, and automation for platform development.
- Collaborate with trading desks to determine optimal execution strategies.
- Contribute to new and existing product development processes.
- Oversee NAV, portfolio composition file reconciliations, and performance attribution analysis.
- Strong financial product knowledge across equities, fixed income or commodities with exposure to index, synthetic, delta‑one or derivative instruments.
- Sound experience in portfolio management, trading, index research, or related fields, with knowledge of portfolio construction, performance & attribution, and ETF servicing.
- Knowledge of index methodologies from key providers (FTSE, S&P, MSCI, etc.).
- Strong quantitative/analytical skills, including Python, VBA, and Excel.
- Understanding of rebalance trading strategies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, Reuters, Fact Set, Aladdin, and optimisation systems such as Barra BPM or Bloomberg Portfolio Management.
- Experience with option strategies and structured products is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree level education or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience.
