Job Description & How to Apply Below

About the role...

You’ve been around deals long enough to know that great tax advice isn’t about ticking boxes, it’s about shaping outcomes. At Cooper Parry, you’ll be at the centre of the action: advising investors, management teams and entrepreneurs on the moments that matter most. You’ll lead complex projects, drive growth, mentor the next generation of deal advisers, and help define what world‑class looks like in our fast‑scaling Transaction Tax team.

About

the day to day…
  • Lead multi-disciplinary deal teams on tax due diligence, structuring and advisory projects for private equity and corporate clients.
  • Be a trusted voice in negotiations, providing calm, commercial advice when the stakes are high.
  • Manage and grow relationships with PE houses, corporates and management teams across the UK mid-market.
  • Support the strategic direction of the team — shaping propositions, delivery models and the way we go to market.
  • Coach and develop managers and junior team members, fostering confidence and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate across Cooper Parry’s corporate finance and transaction services teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
About you...

You’re technically sharp and commercially switched on, someone who sees beyond the numbers to the bigger picture. You enjoy leading teams, building relationships and finding creative ways to deliver outstanding results.

You’ll likely bring:

  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant experience leading tax aspects of M&A transactions — ideally in a private equity context.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge and advise senior stakeholders.
  • A passion for developing people and building a culture of excellence and trust.
  • An ambition to drive transformation within professional services
  • Curiosity, energy and a sense of humour — because life’s too short for dull deals.

What's in it for you?

Our people are the beating heart of our culture. We know that if you love working here, and you’re given the trust and autonomy to work in a way that best suits you, you’ll produce amazing results.

That’s why we offer things like:

  • A flexible approach to work - balancing working from home, in office or with clients
  • A generous holiday entitlement
  • An enhanced parental leave policy
  • An enhanced pension scheme
  • No dress code – just "wear something!"
  • A multi-award-winning wellbeing offering to support your physical, mental, spiritual, and financial health
  • Volunteering opportunities to work closer with local communities and charities
  • Cooper Parry social/sports clubs

Feeling supported and welcomed is such a big part of bringing your whole self to work. As an equal opportunities employer, we’ll work with you to ensure you have everything you need to develop your skills and achieve your best.
