AccountantLocation:
Tamworth, U.K. Office-based with flexible work-from-home options.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of accounting.
Duties and Responsibilities- Process accounts payable invoices
- Process and prepare monthly management accounts
- Assist internal and external auditors with queries
- Assist in maintaining an organised finance department ensuring records are stored and maintained appropriately
- Regular GL account reviews on payables and receivables
- Monthly review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Assist in year-end process
- Provide cover to the Finance Manager as and when required
- Reconcile spending with budget and analyze costs
- Assist with regional tasks when required
- Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation
- Maintain a good working relationship with other departments and the regional finance team
- Work within the confines of the General Data Protection Regulations; respect the rights of Data Subjects and ensure personal data is processed in accordance with the Company’s Data Protection Policy
- Assist in other areas of the company’s operations (within capabilities) and other duties as required
- Account management experience with an understanding of accounting principles and practices
- AAT qualified or part qualified (ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience
- IT literate with good working knowledge of Excel and sound knowledge of finance systems
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrable numerical skills
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Salary range between £40,000 and £45,000 gross per year
- 23 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
- Pension – 5% employer contribution, 5% employee minimum contribution
