Legal Cashier - Tunbridge Wells

Salary: £40,000 per annum |

Hours:

9am-5pm, Monday to Friday | Hybrid: 60% office / 40% home-based

Our client, a reputable firm in Tunbridge Wells, is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong cashiering background.

• Processing client account receipts, payments, CHAPS, and Faster Payments
• Managing client-to-client and client-to-office transfers
• Posting office account payments, journals, and receipts
• Calculating and processing daily client-to-office transfers
• Completing daily bank reconciliations
• Monitoring shared finance inboxes and resolving queries efficiently
• Acting as a gatekeeper for incoming funds, reviewing transactions for AML and source of funds requirements
• Maintaining accurate audit trails and ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
• Identifying and escalating potential compliance issues or financial risks
• Supporting colleagues with technical guidance and sharing best practices

• Solid proven experience working as a Legal Cashier
• Thorough understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules and their practical application
• Experience processing client and office account transactions within a legal environment
• Knowledge of online banking, CHAPS, and Faster Payments
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confidence to work independently while supporting others
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
• High levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
