Family Office & Private Client – Manager – Tax Compliance

Location:

Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen

Responsibilities

This role is primarily a compliance position that involves managing relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals, trusts and other clients, and providing high‑quality compliance services across a wide range of personal tax matters.

  • Ensure delivery of a high‑quality compliance service, including reviewing complex tax returns, capital gains calculations, land and property accounts and complex residence and remittance issues.
  • Prepare and review trust accounts and tax returns.
  • Prepare and review IHT returns for trust entry, exit and ten‑year charges.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, identifying advisory opportunities.
  • Administer the compliance process, adhering to and developing best‑practice procedures to meet deadlines and manage risk.
  • Manage work in progress and ensure prompt billing and cash collection.
Qualifications

Candidates should have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant or tax advisor with experience in a personal‑tax‑focused environment, particularly trusts, and exposure to a varied client base.
  • Strong academic record and insightful understanding of issues facing private clients.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Commitment to clients, colleagues and KPMG.
  • High level of analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
