We're looking for two enthusiastic Finance Apprentices to join our Corporate Finance Service. These exciting opportunities will allow you to work towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification while gaining practical experience in a supportive and professional environment. You don't need previous finance experience - just a willingness to learn, an eye for detail and a positive attitude.
Finance Systems TeamAre you curious about technology, systems and data?
This apprenticeship will be predominantly based within our Finance Systems Team, where you'll help support and maintain the financial systems used across the Council. You'll gain experience in:
- Supporting users with finance system queries
- Assisting with system testing and upgrades
- Producing reports and management information
- Maintaining data quality and accuracy
- Supporting digital improvement projects
- Working with Finance, ICT and service teams across the organisation
- This role is ideal for someone interested in technology, data, finance systems and problem-solving.
Do you enjoy working with numbers and supporting people?
This apprenticeship will be predominantly focused on supporting our Accountancy Team, helping to deliver key financial services across the Council. You'll gain experience in:
- Processing financial transactions
- Supporting budget monitoring activities
- Preparing financial information and reports
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Providing support to Finance colleagues and service areas
- This role is ideal for someone interested in finance, accountancy and developing strong business skills.
- A recognised apprenticeship qualification
- Practical, hands-on experience in a professional finance environment
- Support and mentoring from experienced colleagues
- Opportunities to develop technical, digital and business skills
