eduSOIL seeks a Finance & Governance Manager to oversee financial governance, compliance and risk. Working with the Founder & CEO and leadership team, you will strengthen controls and systems, supporting the sustainability of our education, wellbeing, and youth programmes.
What difference will you make?This volunteer role is vital to eduSOIL's long-term sustainability. By strengthening our financial governance, compliance and risk management, you will help ensure the organisation operates responsibly, transparently and in line with UK regulatory requirements.
Your expertise will enable our leadership team to make informed financial decisions, maintain strong governance systems and safeguard the organisation's resources. This, in turn, allows our programme teams to focus on delivering high-quality education, wellbeing and youth leadership initiatives that positively impact children and young people across Northern Ireland and our international partnerships. Your contribution will help build a resilient organisation capable of creating lasting social impact.
Whatare we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who is passionate about using their skills to support a purpose-driven organisation. The ideal volunteer will combine strong financial knowledge with integrity, attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
Essential Qualities And Experience Include- Professional experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll or financial management.
- Knowledge of UK financial governance, statutory reporting and compliance requirements.
- Experience overseeing financial controls, budgeting or organisational risk.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a leadership team.
- Commitment to transparency, accountability and ethical practice.
- Acting as a Treasurer or serving in a finance governance role.
- Experience with in charities, CICs, voluntary organisations or social enterprises.
- Supervising or mentoring staff or volunteers.
- Developing financial policies, governance procedures or risk management frameworks.
- Familiarity with international financial reporting or working across multiple jurisdictions.

Remote What will you be doing?As Finance & Governance Manager, you will
- Act as Treasurer for eduSOIL CIC (UK), providing financial oversight and governance.
- Run payroll and ensure payroll processes remain accurate and compliant.
- Prepare and file statutory returns and ensure compliance with UK regulatory requirements.
- Oversee financial governance, internal controls and organisational risk management.
- Supervise and support the Finance & Governance Assistant.
- Review financial records and documentation prepared by the Assistant and Finance Officer.
- Oversee international financial records before submission to licensed accountants.
- Work with the leadership team to strengthen financial systems, governance processes and organisational sustainability.
- Support the development of policies and procedures that promote transparency, accountability and good governance.
