Role DescriptionThe Fractional Finance Director role is a part-time, hybrid position based in the Greater Manchester Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility to work partly from home. In this role, the individual will provide strategic finance leadership to a very successful Managed Network Services provider with strong top line and bottom line performance, providing services to UK and International Enterprise established brands with multiple locations.
Providing hands-on leadership of an existing finance function, including overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, as part of a fast-paced and dynamic organisation set for further growth and expansion.. Typical day-to-day tasks include reviewing and updating financial processes, systems and performance, advising on financial performance, and contributing at both operational and strategic level with owner management team. The role also involves establishing or refining financial controls, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and partnering with business owners and leadership teams to improve operational efficiency.
The Fractional Finance Director will need will need to be confident and experienced to deliver, high-impact financial guidance and clear, actionable recommendations.
- Strong finance and financial management skills, including experience in leading finance functions for SMEs.
- Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support growth and scaling objectives.
- Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements and management accounts.
- Solid financial reporting capabilities, including the ability to develop insightful performance dashboards and reports.
- Advanced analytical skills to evaluate business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support data-driven decisions.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience in senior finance roles.
- Demonstrated experience working with SMEs, preferably in a fractional, portfolio, or consultancy capacity.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Comfort working in a hybrid model, balancing on-site client visits in the Greater Manchester area and remote work.
