Assistant Management Accountant

Our client is a well established, privately owned group of businesses with a diverse portfolio of operations across the property sector. They are looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team in a varied role that offers exposure to both transactional finance and management accounting. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play an important role in supporting the production of monthly management accounts while ensuring the smooth running of day to day finance activities across multiple group companies.

This position would suit an ambitious AAT qualified or part qualified accountant looking to develop their management accounting skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple group companies.
• Support month end close activities.
• Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate purchase ledger records.
• Assist with payment runs and monitor outstanding approvals.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Produce financial analysis and management information to support decision making.
• Reconcile bank accounts, ledgers and key balance sheet accounts.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve finance queries.
• Assist with maintaining service charge reconciliations and financial records where required.
• Support process improvements and contribute to the ongoing development of finance systems and reporting.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in a finance role with exposure to month end processes.
• Good understanding of reconciliations and management accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting software.
• Organised, accurate and able to manage a varied workload.
• Proactive with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £33,000 - £37,500
• Full time permanent role with a 35 hour working week.
• Hybrid working with home working available one day per week.
• 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
