If numbers are your thing, we'd love to hear from you.
If you associate Sage with accounting software rather than herbs, and Excel with spreadsheets rather than exhibitions, then there's every chance you speak our language.
At Oasis Community Learning, we're driven by a simple but powerful mission: to help every young person and community member thrive and succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances. As one of the UK's largest academy trusts, we serve communities across the country, many facing significant challenges, supported by exceptional teachers, dedicated support staff and talented professionals who work behind the scenes to make it all possible.
We are now looking for a Regional Finance Assistant to join our finance team, supporting three academies across London. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, thrives on accuracy and wants their work to have a meaningful impact.
Our finance function supports 56 academies and more than 5,000 colleagues, making it a busy, varied and rewarding environment. You'll need to be organised, resilient and able to maintain high standards while managing competing priorities. Most importantly, you'll be a team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and solving problems.
In this role, you'll support a wide range of financial processes, including purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, payroll administration, balance sheet accounts and transactional finance activity. Attention to detail will be your superpower. You'll take pride in ensuring invoices are processed accurately, payments are made on time, and financial records are maintained to the highest standards.
The role is primarily home-based, with occasional visits to our London office at Devonshire House and academies across the region. This offers the flexibility to work independently while remaining connected to a supportive and experienced finance team.
In return, you'll join a supportive and purpose-driven organisation where your contribution truly matters. We'll provide flexibility, development opportunities and the chance to learn from experienced finance professionals. Most importantly, you'll know that the work you do every day helps create better opportunities for young people and communities who need them most.
We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, thrives on organisation and accuracy, and takes pride in keeping financial processes running smoothly. Ideally, you'll have experience in:
- Transactional finance processing, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, receipts and payments.
- Purchase ledger administration, including BACS payment runs, reconciliations, supplier account creation and managing debit balances.
- Sales ledger management, including raising and monitoring invoices and proactively following up outstanding debt.
- Bank account administration, including reconciliations, payment processing and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Finance systems administration, including creating accounts, resolving queries and supporting users.
- Providing wider finance support, from investigating credit card queries to assisting colleagues with ad hoc requests and projects.
You’ll be highly organised, comfortable managing competing priorities and able to maintain excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
As the role supports academies and colleagues across the region, you’ll also be willing and able to travel to Central London or Southampton for team meetings, training and academy visits when required.
Most importantly, you’ll bring a positive, can-do approach and a willingness to be part of a team that helps make a real difference to young people's lives.
Ideally you will have worked and be familiar with accounting software such as PSF and be an advanced user of Excel. You'll be reliable, accurate and willing to get stuck in as part of a collaborative and highly supportive team.
