Management Accountant

Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a global manufacturing business to recruit a dynamic & hands-on Management Accountant for a 12-month fixed term contract based in Chippenham, Wiltshire. A varied opportunity reporting directly to the UK Finance Manager to support the production of accurate monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will work closely with finance colleagues and operational stakeholders to provide clear financial insight and support effective business decision-making. The position offers remote/office hybrid working of one day on-site, the rest remote per week. Open to finance professionals who are part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience. Your new role Your key duties will include preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet reporting, and supporting commentary. Post and review month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments. Complete balance sheet reconciliations, analyse actual performance against budget and forecast, explaining key variances clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders. You will support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, prepare financial reports and dashboards, along with assisting with cash flow reporting, working capital analysis and maintaining the fixed asset register.

You will ensure stock values, standard costs and bills of materials are accurate, along with supporting project reporting, year-end and audit preparation, along with being involved in ad-hoc projects and financial analysis. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this hands-on Management Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position, ideally part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience.

Strong MS Excel skills, confident in working with large volumes of financial data, knowledge of financial systems and used to being adaptable to business needs. You will be organised with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced financial environment, a team player who has a proactive approach and willingness to support improvements. You will be a confident communicator, who can build effective working relationships across the business, with a continuous improvement mind-set.

It would be advantageous, but not essential, if you have experience working within the manufacturing sector with knowledge of stock processes or standard costing, along with ERP systems, including IFS. What you'll get in return This varied Management Accountant role offers a salary up to £45,000 per annum over a 12-month fixed-term contract, dependable on experience based in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
