As part of the Corporate & Support Services Directorate, you'll be joining a dedicated team that ensures robust financial governance using cutting-edge systems and practices. With a diverse mix of professionals and a commitment to continual improvement, the organisation is recognised for its inclusive culture and strategic focus on sustainable development. About you Recognised accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent) with full membership of a professional body Minimum of 2 years' experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing, ideally within local government or public sector Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and standards Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities Ability to adapt to new challenges with a proactive attitude What you'll do Prepare accurate management accounts, financial reports, and analysis to support strategic decision-making Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis Oversee capital and treasury accounting, asset management, and cash flow optimisations Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and audit requirements Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments and external partners Contribute to continuous process improvements and staff mentoring to foster a high-performance team For further information on this job, apply via the link or contact Dan Morgan for a confidential chat today.
