Job Description & How to Apply Below

Join our team as a Financial Crime Controls Consultant and play a key role in protecting the organisation through the independent review and authorisation of high-risk customer relationships and financial crime decisions.

In this role, you will provide effective challenge, oversight, and assurance across complex AML (Anti-Money Laundering), sanctions, and financial crime investigations, ensuring outcomes are risk-based, evidence-led, and aligned with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and the Society’s risk appetite. You will be responsible for assessing high-risk cases, identifying potential control weaknesses, and delivering clear, well-reasoned decisions that support both risk management and fair customer outcomes.

Working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders, you will use your financial crime expertise to influence decision‑making, share best practice, and drive continuous improvement across the control environment. Strong stakeholder management skills will be essential, as will the ability to provide constructive challenge while building effective working relationships across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced financial crime professional with a strong background in AML, sanctions, enhanced due diligence, or financial crime investigations. An ICA (International Compliance Association) qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, combined with proven investigative experience and the confidence to challenge effectively while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
