About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Tax Specialist to join their finance team remotely. This role is critical for ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and optimizing the company's tax position. You will be responsible for tax planning, preparation, and advisory services across various tax types. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in South African tax law and a keen eye for detail, able to provide strategic tax advice and manage complex tax matters from a remote setting .

• Prepare and review corporate income tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory tax filings.
• Provide expert advice on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and structures.
• Stay current with changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
• Assist with tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations across different jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to address tax-related issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law with a specialization in Taxation.
• A post-graduate qualification in Taxation is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax consulting or corporate tax roles.
• In-depth knowledge of South African tax laws, including corporate tax, VAT, and PAYE.
• Experience with tax research software and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders remotely.
