Consultant Risk & Control Partner

A fantastic opportunity has become available at Nationwide for a passionate and ambitious individual to bring specialist risk & control expertise to enable our Technology Leaders, our Chief Information Officers (CIOs), to operate and execute effective controls and make informed risk-based decisions to achieve good customer outcomes.

You’ll be passionate about developing data led approaches to delivering risk and control insight that drives proactive action and prioritisation.

You’ll have a track record of delivery, with high standards of performance and be able to build trust and strong working relationships.

You’ll be comfortable to work through ambiguity and proactively build your network to allow you to engage collaboratively across other Risk Management teams and subject matter experts to produce high quality and informative products.

As a Consultant within the CIO & Change Risk Management Team, you will support the delivery of risk and control services to our Products, Channels, Core Bank & Payments CIO. The team is responsible for the provision of subject matter expertise, objective advice and actionable insight to support CIOs to understand, evaluate and improve the risk and control environment as it relates to the management of their portfolio of technology and change.

Nationwide has ambitious plans to build on a modernised and simplified estate alongside safe and sound execution of the Virgin Money Integration, unlocking its full potential for its customers. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, energetic and experienced individual with a background in either Technology, Information Security, Data and Change to be part of a critical team.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon,
London or Glasgow office.
If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events.If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
