We have a great opportunity for an associate research analyst to join our fixed income investment team. The ideal candidate will bring strong data and analytical skills and a desire to work in one of the most exciting asset classes. The role, based in London England, will help inform corporate bond investment decisions within the Emerging Market Debt team of Columbia Threadneedle Investments, the global asset management subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial.
Howyou'll spend your time
- Perform in-depth sector and security analysis.
- Analyze and integrate industry trends into actionable recommendations, gathering relevant data as appropriate.
- Identify and develop data management tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of investment process.
- Contribute to team discussions focused on investment performance and process.
- Collaborate closely with EM sovereign analysts to frame corporate recommendations in country context
- Contribute to larger firm conversations about investments, working with other fixed income and asset classes.
- Interact with issuers and dealers, attending meetings and conferences as needed.
- Appropriately monitor existing holdings for performance.
- Help manage independent and group research projects.
- Passionate about Emerging Market Debt and the investment management industry with a strong work ethic, integrity and dedication to being a part of a successful team.
- Ability to use a mix of quantitative and qualitive data to arrive at conclusions and make portfolio recommendations.
- Communication and relationship building skills to appropriately influence and share ideas with others.
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office tools.
- BA/BS degree.
It would be great if you also had...
Prior relevant experience- Ability to scrub and query data from database systems using SQL
- Experience with any of:
Python, SQL, AWS
