Reinsurance Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Reinsurance Analyst to join their finance team in Polokwane. In this role, you will manage and analyze reinsurance treaties, ensuring the accurate processing of claims and premiums related to reinsurance agreements. Your expertise will be crucial in managing the company's risk exposure and financial performance. You will work with complex data and financial instruments, contributing to strategic risk management decisions in a professional setting that offers hybrid work flexibility.

• Administer and analyze reinsurance treaties, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Process and reconcile ceded and assumed reinsurance claims and premium bordereaux.
• Prepare regular reports on reinsurance positions, exposures, and financial results for management.
• Assist in the analysis of reinsurance proposals and the negotiation of treaty terms.
• Monitor solvency and capital adequacy in relation to reinsurance arrangements.
• Liaise with reinsurers, brokers, and internal departments on reinsurance matters.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance or a closely related insurance finance role.
• Strong understanding of reinsurance concepts, treaty structures, and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and relevant software (e.g., Excel, SQL).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with Solvency II or other regulatory capital frameworks is a plus.
