Role Description  The Finance Account Specialist role at Local Butcher is a full-time, remote position responsible for managing day-to-day financial and accounting operations. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The specialist will handle accounts payable and receivable, oversee payroll administration, and reconcile bank accounts and transaction reports related to customer orders and partner butcher shops.

The role also involves monitoring cash flow, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing analytical insights to help optimize costs, improve margins, and support business growth. Collaboration with operations, management, and external partners is expected to ensure compliance with financial policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Finance and Accounting, with the ability to manage day-to-day financial operations and support reporting needs.
Experience preparing, reviewing, and interpreting Financial Statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Demonstrated Analytical Skills for financial data analysis, cost optimization, and performance tracking in a fast-paced environment.
Hands-on experience with Payroll Administration, including processing payroll, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) and comfort working with digital tools in a remote setup.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA) are an advantage but not required.
Prior experience in startups, e-commerce, or food-tech businesses is beneficial, with an interest in supporting local commerce and digital platforms.
