Remote Senior Tax Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Senior Tax Accountant to lead their tax compliance and advisory functions. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws, and providing strategic tax planning advice to minimize tax liabilities. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of tax legislation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively in a virtual environment.

This is a key role contributing to the company's financial strategy and compliance framework.

• Prepare and file federal, provincial, and local tax returns for the organization.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, staying updated on changes.
• Provide strategic tax planning and advice to optimize the company's tax position.
• Conduct tax research and analysis on various complex tax issues.
• Liaise with tax authorities and respond to inquiries or audits.
• Assist with tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• CA(SA) or equivalent qualification is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, with a strong focus on compliance and planning.
• Expertise in South African tax laws and regulations.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively in a remote setting .
• Strong proficiency in tax preparation software and advanced Excel skills.
