About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly analytical and motivated Remote Energy Trading Analyst to join their globally distributed trading desk. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within specified time zone requirements. You will be responsible for analyzing energy market data, identifying trading opportunities, and supporting the execution of energy trading strategies across various commodities. This role requires a keen understanding of market dynamics, strong quantitative skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
You will contribute directly to the financial performance of the trading operations and help shape our client's strategic market positioning from a remote setting.
- Analyze real-time energy market data, including pricing, supply, demand, and weather patterns.
- Develop and maintain predictive models to forecast energy prices and market trends.
- Identify and evaluate arbitrage and trading opportunities in electricity, natural gas, and related derivatives.
- Support the execution of trading strategies by providing timely analysis and recommendations to the trading team.
- Monitor open trading positions, manage risk exposure, and report on trading performance.
- Collaborate with quantitative analysts and developers to enhance trading tools and algorithms.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in energy trading, financial analysis, or a related role.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proven experience in statistical modeling and data analysis.
- Proficiency with market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv) and analytical tools (e.g., Python, R, Excel VBA).
- Excellent understanding of energy markets, trading principles, and risk management concepts.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate complex ideas clearly in a remote setting.
