Remote Tax Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and diligent Remote Tax Accountant to join their finance department. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of corporate tax compliance, including preparation and filing of tax returns, tax planning, and advising on tax implications of business decisions.

The role requires a proactive individual who can work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders across different locations, ensuring adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations.

• Prepare and submit accurate corporate income tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory tax filings.
• Conduct tax research and provide advice on the tax implications of new business initiatives, investments, and transactions.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
• Assist in managing tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, such as SARS.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position legally and ethically.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable tax laws and ensure company-wide compliance.

• Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field; a professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CTA, H.Dip Tax) is preferred.
• Proven experience of at least 4 years in corporate tax accounting, with a strong understanding of South African tax law.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Quick Books, Xero).
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage deadlines effectively in a remote setting.
