Remote Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote Financial Accountant to join their finance department. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa . You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong accounting expertise, and excels in a virtual team environment, contributing to the company's financial integrity and growth from a remote setting.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure all requirements are met.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) is a significant advantage.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial accounting, preferably in a remote capacity.
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack).
• Deep understanding of IFRS and South African tax regulations.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously.
