We're working with a vibrant and growing group business to recruit a part-time Finance Assistant to join its finance team.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play an important role across the group, supporting day-to-day transactional finance activities including sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and cash management.
The business operates across a number of exciting ventures, including a globally recognised cricket travel and merchandising brand, alongside other growing businesses within the group.
The RoleReporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the Management Accountant, you'll provide day-to-day transactional and administrative support across the finance function.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing and maintaining the sales ledger
- Processing and maintaining the purchase ledger
- Managing credit control, including chasing outstanding customer balances and resolving queries
- Allocating cash across bank and merchant accounts
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Reconciling Shopify transactions against sales and bank records
- Managing and responding to queries through the accounts email inbox
- Supporting the Financial Controller and Management Accountant with ad hoc finance tasks as required
We're looking for someone with proven experience in a similar Finance Assistant or Accounts role. A formal accountancy qualification isn't essential, but you'll need solid practical finance experience.
You’ll ideally have:- Hands-on experience across sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and bank reconciliation
- Experience using accounting software and confidence with Excel
- Experience with Shopify or another e-commerce platform would be advantageous
- Excellent organisation skills and strong attention to detail
- The ability to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills, with confidence liaising with customers, suppliers and colleagues
- A collaborative, team-focused approach
- 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Flexibility around working patterns for the right candidate
- On-site working with occasional work-from-home flexibility
