Tax Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Tax Specialist to join their finance team, offering remote work flexibility. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with all tax regulations, providing expert advice on tax matters, and optimizing the company's tax position. You will be responsible for preparing and filing various tax returns, conducting tax research, and advising on the tax implications of business decisions.

• Prepare and submit corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory tax filings.
• Provide expert advice on complex tax issues, including international tax and transfer pricing.
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and regulations impacting the company.
• Conduct tax research and analysis to identify potential tax savings and risks.
• Assist with tax audits and liaise with tax authorities (e.g., SARS).
• Advise on the tax implications of business transactions, mergers, and acquisitions.

• BCom degree in Accounting or Law, with a specialization in Taxation.
• Professional qualification such as SAIT membership or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax, preferably within a multinational or advisory firm.
• In-depth knowledge of South African tax law and international tax principles.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
